BAY CITY BALLET PRESENTS

GRADUATION BALL

June 5th, 2010 - 2:00 and 7:00pm

The Bay City Ballet, located at 1715 S Missouri Ave, will present their Spring Concert at the Francis Wilson Playhouse, 302 Seminole St. Clearwater FL, 33755 on June 5th, 2010. Performance times are 2:00 and 7:00pm.  The local ballet company will present the classical favorite GRADUATION BALL.

Staged by Mark Jelks, this comedic ballet depicts a girls finishing school preparing for their annual dance where the boys from the local military school comes to visit.

The Lead Cadet (Joseph DiSanza) and the Romantic Girl (Colleen Hanlon) and the mischievous Pigtails (Samantha Payton) lead the wonderful waltz which leads into an evening of Classical Dance, Romance and Fun. The Drummer is danced by Jared Brunson and pas de deux danced by Annalise Lynch and Taylor Minich. With beautiful music by Strauss this ballet is a wonderful summertime treat.

THE REHEARSAL by premiere tap teacher Cathy Scavelli, shows an amusing behind the scenes view of a Tap Company preparing for a show.

Melodie Schneberger presents ALICE'S TEA PARTY. A light comic section from the original play Alice In Wonderland features Elizabeth Bishop (Alice), Abby Deweerd (Mad Hatter), Annalise Lynch (White Rabbit), Samantha Corsini (Dormouse).

Also on the program HANDEL WITH CARE. With elegant music by George Frederich Handel, this Neo-Classical ballet presents dance in a  whole new light. Energetic dancing, a beautiful pas de deux and comical movements which take you away from the world for a brief moment.  Other works by Aniesa Schneberger and Nina Stauffer will also be presented.
