Backstage on Broadway – SERIES 4

DAMN YANKEES – April 17th 10am –  As the Tampa Bay Rays face the Yankees, we’ll look at this classic baseball musical where the Washington Senators try to beat the Yankees by any way possible. Featuring hits like Heart, Two Lost Souls and Whatever Lola Wants- Lola Gets, Damn Yankees is a home run hit show! Featuring lecture, interviews and rare video clips. 
THE MUSIC MAN – April 24th 10am – Hear the story of one man’s decade long challenge to create this Tony Award Winning Best Musical. Meredith Willson’s tale of a con artist who wins over a sleepy Iowa Town is filled colorful characters and rousing numbers. Join the parade with 76 Trombones and lecture, interviews and rare video clips. 

GYPSY – May 1st 10am – The almost true story of June Havoc, Gypsy Rose Lee and their mother Rose as they worked their way through the ranks of Vaudeville to eventual stardom. Featuring a score by Jule Styne & Stephen Sondheim, Let Us Entertain You with lecture, interviews and rare video clips. 

MAN OF LA MANCHA – May 8th 10am – The epic novel Don Quixote provides the background for this amazing piece of musical theatre. Hear the tale of how a TV special eventually transformed into a musical hit around the world. The score features timeless like The Impossible Dream  and To Each His Dulcinea. Journey back through lecture, interviews and rare video clips.
CHICAGO – May 15th 10am – Based on a true series of events, Chicago has been a phenomenon around the globe. Originally staged by Bob Fosse, this sexy song and dance story of crime and corruption is a killer-diller of a song. Featuring lecture, interviews, rare video clips and All That Jazz!  
BARNUM – May 22nd 10am – Step right up folks for this wondrous look at the life of P.T. Barnum. Featuring a score by Cy Coleman & Michael Stewart, Barnum is a 3 ring spectacle of musical theatre fun. Featured attractions include lecture, interviews and rare video clips. 
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA – May 29th 10am – This classic novel has become Broadway’s longest running musical, chalking up over 32 years of performances.  Featuring a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Phantom is a spectacle that has entranced audiences worldwide. Enjoy the story of this phenomenon with lecture, interviews and rare video clips.
