Francis Wilson Playhouse and the creative team of Little Women, the Musical embrace color-blind casting and welcome all to audition.

Jo March, female presenting, age 18 - 23, Vocal range: E3 - A5Our story's protagonist. Passionate, adventurous, and brave. She has the idea of writing Little Women and eventually becomes engaged to Professor Bhaer.

Professor Bhaer,  male presenting, age 28-35 , Vocal range: G2 - F#4German Professor who exemplifies proper manners. He is a boarder in Mrs. Kirk's boarding house and eventually falls in love with Jo.

Amy March, female presenting, age 16 to 18, Vocal range: Cb4 -Gb5The youngest, most energetic sister with a rather pompous air about her. She later marries Laurie. Can double as Troll.

Young Amy, female presenting, age 9 to 13, Vocal range: Cb4 -Gb5The younger version of Amy seen in Act 1.

Meg March, female presenting,  age: 21 to 25, Vocal range: A#3 - Gb5The world-weary, yet hopeful, oldest sister who yearns for a great life. She marries John and has twins with him. Can double as Clarissa.

Beth March, female presenting, age 17 to 21, Vocal range: A3 - G5The second youngest sister who tragically dies of Scarlet Fever. Peace-maker, lover, and an optimist who is always encouraging her sisters to dream. Can double as Rodrigo II.

Marmee March, female presenting, age 45 to 55m Vocal range: Eb3 - Eb5The girls' mother. She is the strong backbone of the family, who is courageous in spite of the difficult odds she faces. Can double as Hag.

Mr. Laurence, male presenting, age: 65+Laurie’s curmudgeonly grandfather, who finds a soft spot for Beth and ultimately the March family.

Laurie Laurence, male presenting, age 18 to 23, Vocal range: Bb2 - Bb4The bright-eyed boy-next-door with considerable charm. He loves Jo but later falls in love with Amy.

Aunt March, female presenting, age: 55 to 65, Vocal range: E3- F5A formidable, over-bearing matron and great-aunt to the March sisters. The wealthy socialite in town. Can double as Mrs. Kirk.

Mr. John Brooke,  male presenting, Age: 30 to 40, Vocal range:C#3 - F#4Laurie's tutor and a rather stiff man; shows very little emotion. He later marries Meg and changes.

Doubled roles: (these roles may be doubled as noted above or filled with ensemble)

Mrs. Kirk: The New York boarding house proprietress that lodges Jo and Professor Bhaer. Irish, kindly, warm and motherly. 

Clarissa: The ingénue in Jo’s story; prone to fainting, sobbing dramatically, ultimately finds her courage. 

Braxton: The villain in Jo’s story; classic mustache-twirling, dastardly fellow. 

Rodrigo: The hero in Jo’s story; handsome, saving-the-day with much bravado. 

Troll: In Jo’s story; your classic lives-under-the-bridge troll; hoards jewels and gems and makes bargains. 

Hag: In Jo’s story; a wise hag who’s unseemly looks hide wisdom. 

Knight: In Jo’s story; an elderly Knight who possesses the key to Clarissa’s destiny. 

Rodrigo II: In Jo’s story, the real hero, Clarissa’s long-lost sister in disguise.
